Favorite restaurants
My favorite restaurants in Hendersonville are:
Binions Steakhouse
Hannah Flanagan’s
Uncle Scott’s
Mezzaluna
And now
Dandelion
I like all these places for somewhat different reasons. Each of them has their own unique food menu and of course the steakhouse in my mind is as good as any steakhouse I’ve ever been including Longhorns. Mezzaluna is my go to for salmon and just the whole atmosphere. I just enjoy it all the time even now that I’m not drinking beer the 50 beers on tap was one of the first attractions many years ago uncle Scott is something we do now every week. The first time I went I remember I didn’t think too much of it now I think it’s the greatest thing ever. It’s so simple and casual. We always sit at a booth by the window and look at each other. Talk to each other and enjoy a tremendous meal of spaghetti and meat sauce or her specialty is kind of a white pizza with an olive oil base instead of a tomato base and spinach and cheese and tomatoes. Hannahs is always open and always great. They have a bar section that’s always pretty crowded but but also in a kind of a friendly jovial spirit and the food is just super good from their fish and chips to their shepherds pie to their hamburger every time I say something on the menu, I wanna get it. It’s that good and this is pure comfort food nothing fancy but I swear it’s as good as any food I’ve ever had anywhere. And now I’m going to include dandelion on my favorites list because we went there today for the first time, but it was exceptionally good. I got a salad and I couldn’t make this salad for lover money let alone get all the different ingredients for the price of the salad. This was our first time going today, but I can guarantee we’ll be going back. Other places are very good in Hendersonville the fireside. I believe it’s called the breakfast place out there towards the back cave end of town and they have the best breakfast I’ve ever had except for maybe Mike’s On Main and the funny thing is I’m trying to think of someplace that we could go for Valentine’s Day I thought about Seasons, which is a nice place for special occasions, but I don’t think it’s really our kind of place. We don’t want to get dressed up. We just want to be relaxed and have a great meal and be able to talk to each other. I’m very happy to have friends to go out with And so we’ve been out with John and Judy and Dave and Joanna and I believe I finally got out with Bob and Diane, but it’s just different going out with another couple than it is for just Jennifer and I Owe another Pl.,. Jennifer and I go is the Apollo flame out there near the Arboretum of course the highlighted at the Apollo flame was the baklava and now that I’m on keto I can’t partake in that decadence anymore, but both of us actually said today how much we love Hendersonville and Jennifer has lived in Tucson Arizona or in Flagstaff Arizona and she’s been in some beautiful beautiful places so oh that was something else we did. We wrote up to jump off rock yesterday and just sat there looking at the view and again it was just a very relaxed and wonderful experience. We’ve made friends with Dee and Ed that own a store downtown. I think it’s called wild Mountain song something like that and they’re just great people and today when we were walking around, we said oh next time we have to walk down there to see our friends Dee and Ed so there’s just so many things for us to do in Hendersonville and now I just feel like I want to do them do as much as possible without rushing it or pushing it but just enjoying the lifestyle that we have here in Hendersonville.
