Pope Leo speaks out against war

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, threw her support behind the pope on April 16, urging Anglicans to follow his lead. Mullally plans to visit Rome later in April to meet with Leo. “I stand with my brother in Christ, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, in his courageous call for a kingdom of peace,” said Mullally, who in October was named the first woman to lead the Church of England. “As innocent people are killed and displaced, families torn apart, and futures destroyed, the human cost of war is incalculable. It is the calling of every Christian – and of all people of faith and goodwill – to work and pray for peace. We must also urge all those entrusted with political authority to pursue every possible peaceful and just means of resolving conflict,” she said. https://enewspaper.blueridgenow.com/eebrowser/ipad/html5.check.26032419//action/php-script/callcrop_pdf.php?file=0@/hendersonvilletimesnews/20260417/henbrd_timesnews_04-17-2026_b_a_001_w-socr.pdf.0/&crop=300-325-84-291&meddim=411-775&pSetup=hendersonvilletimesnews&name=Hendersonville%20Times-News_20260417_A01_0&edition=Hendersonville%2520Times-News&article=0&TAUID=14989&gmtoffset=240 Pete 🤓 and Zeke 🐶
