Our tour guide Jessica brought the history and the “lure of the lake” to life with her informative, humorous and heartfelt narrative throughout our hour long lake tour journey. She pointed out many sites captured in the classic film Dirty Dancing including the watermelon stairs and the details about the lake lift that gave us chills. This is a thoroughly enjoyable way for the whole family to spend an afternoon in the mountains. We are lucky to live in Hendersonville only 20 miles away so we will definitely be back but we met others from out of town. I think the further you had to travel to reach the blue ridge the more important it is to include Lake Lure and nearby Chimney Rock on your travel itinerary. Pete 🤓 and Zeke 🐶
