My friend Alice just sent me these photographs that she had in her personal archive and they bring back many memories and they also bring back the fact that I don’t remember everything. The photo right below here is Dave myself and Skoby. His full name is Ken Skoby. We always always called him Skoby.. Skoby was a wild guy and in college. He was always bare chested and running around in the cold doing crazy things and bringing back things from New Hampshire that we had never tried before like Whale Meat.
I’ll never forget he brought that can of whale meat back to the dorm and kind of dared us to try it quite honestly I don’t know if I did… But I know if I did, I didn’t like it… Another thing he did was hang from the bed upside down and calm himself a wombat…. He was always pushing the limit on everything we did.
This is a great picture of Dave. He just looks so happy and relaxed. He has a big smile on his face. I think they took this picture when we met Skoby in Atlanta many years later after college we went down there to meet him. He had just sold his restaurant And wanted to celebrate. The quick story on that was he worked for a restaurant for many years As their cook, and eventually, he accumulated enough money and influence to buy the restaurant which I thought was a huge accomplishment. My sister, Linda, and I ventured up to visit him in New Hampshire at his restaurant… I’ll never forget when we came to the front door and asked to see Ken and the waitress said oh you want to meet Mr. Skoby and I said yes Mr. Skoby… it was such a great reunion. He was so glad to see us. We had a wonderful time and a great meal at his restaurant and then we stayed with him at his home and had just a great visit. The irony of the visit was that Linda got more involved I think than I did. Linda has a great way of connecting with people and I remember on our journey home that our goal was to stop at a Ben & Jerry’s because their ice cream originates in Vermont, we kept looking for Ben & Jerry’s and never found one so I guess the closest we came to getting Ben & Jerry’s was at the grocery store when we got home.
Add that I’m making this notation. I’m realizing that we must’ve taken two different trips because the trip with Linda is the one I just referred to but the trip with Alice with myself and Dave and Alice with another extremely memorable trip and we just took off to Atlanta. I must’ve explained the test that we were going to go down there and visit Kelly And that’s my recollection that we were visiting Kelly so Skoby must’ve been part of that visit as well in any case we listen to music all the way down and I was so proud to have an iPod at that time with all my favorite music on it and Alice played disc jockey and played the music From my iPod and we just had a fantastic trip and Alice was so keyed up and full of herself and on one of our stops, she said I have a lot of Fun. She said I’m a lot of fun. I’m a lot of work, but I’m a lot of fun. It was one of the cutest things she ever said.

These are pictures from New Years Eve at Shelly and Peyton Harvey’s

And this is the Fab Four; Dave and Alice and Pete and Tess. Once again I want to take notice that I have my arm around Tess. I have noticed that in many pictures that I find as I look back. Tess and I standing or sitting together and I just have my arm around her and or her head is resting on my shoulder. I never saw us as being overtly lovey dovey, in fact we used to make fun of people who demonstrated overt PDA but we were very, very connected and it shows in these pictures. Once we found each other we were just connected. People knew us and we knew each other as
                                                Pete and Tess.

Whoops, where is Tess? Is it possible that she took this picture? But here we are Patty and Ken and Alice and Dave and Pete leaning into Dave. For years I always felt connected to Dave and Alice and I never felt like a 3rd wheel… I always felt connected and kind of waiting for the missing piece. I met several other wonderful girls and was very fortunate in that respect. I would try them out with Dave and Alice and even as we parted they would remain good friends with Dave and Alice… but then one day there was Tess and thought all our ups, downs trials and tribulations…. There was still and always
Pete and Tess.
