Thank you for taking the time and having the courage to study Spinoza and create these videos to help explain and clarify the truth from the fictions incorporated into Christianity. Jesus was a role model for living a pure and simple virtuous life and yet as you’ve pointed out he would not be welcomed into the church that claims his name. This hypocrisy is something that pops up everywhere and is covered over with piety. I love the way you clarify that by putting Jesus in one column and Paul in the other column. I have often been struck and puzzled by this stark contrast. The contrast of Jesus saying Love thy neighbor and treat others with the love you have for yourself, the Golden Rule and however you treat the least of these is how you’re treating me… all of these to be consistent ethical teachings vs politics and consequent policies that judge and punish people simply because they are different. That sadly is very much a part of human nature. A flawed part. A part that Jesus himself preached against and by which he was eventually killed but all that he tried to teach us as the Way has been reduced to a sign that says Jesus Saves. Somehow faith absolves us from the responsibility of living a good, caring and compassionate life. That is Paul, not Jesus.
